World Jewish Relief – Thanks

Dear New Zealand Jewish Council,

I am writing on behalf of all of us at World Jewish Relief to thank you and your wonderful network for the truly outstanding financial support towards our response to the crisis in Ukraine. We are humbled by your kindness and generosity.

World Jewish Relief has been working in Ukraine for over 30 years. We have built up an amazing network of 29 local partners across the country. Since 23rd February 2022 each one of these partners has been focusing on evacuating people, purchasing local supplies, visiting those that are house bound or assisting those that need to find safety and shelter. We have established a significant pipeline of food, medicines, hygiene items for women, girls and older people and shelter materials which we are bringing into the country to our logistics hub in Lviv for onward distribution. We estimate we have assisted over 20,000 people in country so far. We have teams in Moldova and Poland assisting those that have fled and are assisting the resettlement of refugees into the UK. Our work seeks to assist those both within and beyond the Jewish community. Sadly we this crisis deepening and becoming more complex to operate as a humanitarian actor. But we could not do what we do without the support and kindness of supporters so we are so grateful for your assistance. Thank you so much.
